Andreas Fichtner wins Aki Young Scientist Award
awarded by the American Geophysical Union (AGU)
Andreas Fichtner, currently at Utrecht University, leader of the QUEST work package on inverse problems was awarded with the prostigious Aki Young Scientist Award, given to a seismologist within the first three years after obtaining a PhD. He obtained the award for his contributions in the area of adjoint seismic inversion applied on a regional scale. His PhD thesis was - in extended version - published as a book by Springer.
